About FOUNDRY SEOUL
Founded in June 2021, FOUNDRY SEOUL is a contemporary art gallery based in Hannam-dong, Seoul. Working closely with emerging to mid-career Korean and international artists, the gallery supports distinctive practices that contribute to contemporary art discourse. Its 398-square-meter exhibition space presents works across diverse mediums, complemented by public programs that foster meaningful engagement.
FOUNDRY SEOUL connects the Korean and international art scenes, bringing international artists to local audiences while introducing Korean artists to the global artworld. Its program has featured artists including Henning Strassburger, Effie Wanyi Li, Fernanda Galvão, Yulia Iosilzon, Hyunhee Doh, Sanglak Shon, Omyo Cho, Jongwan Jang, and Han Sang A.
Since Miart 2023, the gallery has participated in major art fairs such as NADA New York, NADA Miami, Taipei Dangdai, and FELIX Art Fair, expanding its international presence through Frieze Seoul and Frieze London in 2026.

About the Artist
Han Sang A works primarily with fabric, meok, thread, and cotton stuffing to explore the boundaries of the body and how they shift through relationships. The body is neither complete nor fixed, but a vessel in flux, continually constructing and transforming its boundaries through encounters with others and the surrounding environment. Rooted in her experience of pregnancy and childbirth, particularly the fluid transition between the body’s interior and exterior, Han’s practice has evolved through recurring motifs such as flowers, tendrils, pagodas, and thresholds into structures that move between body and space. Through the processes of drawing with meok, cutting, stitching, and giving volume to fabric, forms expand beyond fixed representation and take on a bodily presence of their own. Drawing on the artist’s deeply personal experiences, Han’s works evoke universal emotions such as love, devotion, care, and concern, inviting viewers to engage with the works through multilayered forms of empathy.
